BMW Alpha by Mark Atkinson and Mehmet Doruk Erdem

The genesis of this bike is quite interesting. It was conceived in Istanbul and born in the Utah. When Mehmet Doruk Erdem designed it, he was so overwhelmed by people asking about his bike that he didn’t see the message of Mark Atkinson, a motorcycle builder who was serious about the project. But after another try, Mark got his answer.

It’s difficult to imagine something similar to this. It’s like riding a shark on two wheels. It doesn’t even have the frame or the sitting position of a regular motorcycle. Everything seems to be reinvented like there used to be nothing before.

I’ve seen a lot of custom bikes based on the BMW K75. But it’s impressive how far they went with the “Flying Brick”.
